About Alison
Alison is an experienced and qualified counsellor and supervisor, presently working in private practice and volunteering for a local hospice. She offers a warm, safe confidential space for you to discuss whatever is troubling you. Her counselling style is integrative which means she can draw from several counselling and psychotherapy models which she has gained through her professional training and experience.
Training and Experience
Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, Alison spent many years working as a Mental Health nurse (RGN & RMN) in a range of NHS settings. She holds awards in: PGDip Counselling & Psychotherapy; MSc in Mindfulness and Adv. Cert in Cognitive Behavioural Interventions. I also have qualifications in teaching (PGCE) and Human Resource Management (MA).
Alison works with people with a wide range of psychological and mental health issues; depression, anxiety and severe mental health difficulties. Life situations including work related issues and occupational well-being. She has recently completed a professional diploma in working with sexual addiction and compulsivity.
